Terms and Conditions
Retail & Restaurant Customers

By placing an order with MicroRoots, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Order Processing
All MicroRoots products are harvested fresh to order to ensure maximum quality, flavour, and shelf life.
Orders are typically processed within 1 to 2 business days
Bulk or restaurant orders may require additional lead time, which will be confirmed at order placement
Orders are only confirmed once payment or agreed trade terms are in place
2. Customer Categories
Retail Customers
Individual households and direct consumers
Orders are packed in retail-sized containers (e.g. 50g / 100g)
Restaurant / Trade Customers
Restaurants, cafés, caterers, and food service businesses
Orders may be packed in bulk or custom quantities
Standing orders or recurring supply arrangements may be agreed separately
3. Delivery Areas
We currently offer:
Local delivery within a 15 km radius of Centurion
Courier shipping within South Africa, subject to courier availability and product suitability
Delivery areas may be adjusted based on volume, weather, or logistical constraints.
4. Delivery Schedule & Responsibility
Local Deliveries
Local deliveries are made on selected delivery days
Customers must ensure someone is available to receive the delivery
Alternatively, a cooler box may be left out by prior arrangement
MicroRoots is not responsible for product quality if deliveries are left unattended without proper cooling.
Courier Deliveries
Courier deliveries are dispatched Monday to Friday only
Estimated delivery time: 1 to 3 business days
We do not ship over weekends or public holidays due to the perishable nature of microgreens
5. Shipping & Delivery Fees
Delivery and courier fees are calculated at checkout or quoted in advance
Fees vary based on order size, delivery method, and location
Delivery fees are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched
6. Quality Assurance & Inspection
All products are quality-checked before dispatch.
Retail Customers
Please inspect your order upon delivery
Any issues must be reported within 24 hours
Restaurant / Trade Customers
Products must be inspected immediately upon receipt
Acceptance of delivery constitutes acceptance of product quality
Any issues must be reported within 12 hours of delivery
Claims outside these timeframes may not be accepted.
7. Returns Policy
Due to the perishable nature of fresh microgreens, returns are not accepted.
If an order arrives:
Damaged
Spoiled
Incorrect
Please notify us within the applicable inspection period and provide:
Clear photos
A brief description of the issue
8. Refunds, Replacements & Credits
If a claim is approved by MicroRoots:
A full or partial refund, replacement, or store credit may be offered
Refunds are processed within 3 to 5 business days to the original payment method
The resolution method is determined in consultation with the customer
For restaurant clients, credits may be applied to the next delivery where applicable.
9. Product Handling & Storage Responsibility
Microgreens are living, fresh products and require proper handling.
Customers are responsible for:
Immediate refrigeration upon receipt
Storage at appropriate temperatures
Hygienic handling practices
MicroRoots is not liable for quality deterioration due to improper storage or handling after delivery.
10. Standing Orders & Availability (Restaurants)
Standing or recurring orders are subject to availability and seasonal conditions
MicroRoots reserves the right to adjust supply volumes with reasonable notice
Crop failure, weather, or operational disruptions may affect availability
11. Limitation of Liability
MicroRoots shall not be liable for:
Courier delays or third-party delivery failures
Weather-related disruptions
Incorrect delivery information supplied by the customer
Losses related to menu planning or service interruptions
Liability is limited to the value of the affected product only.
